Winter Comes to the Greenlandian Forest

Snow falling and crunching

‘Tis Winter in the Greenlandian Forest! Bask in the ambience of the Greenlands’ first snowfall. The Greenlands is one of the seven kingdoms of New-Camelot—the fantasy world I have been building for over a decade, and the setting of The Sun and Moon Saga.

Winter is a great time to cozy up with The Sun and Moon Saga. Start reading the first book, IV: Aurora and Luna, today—and listen to this soundscape as you read!

Sincerely,

MD Luna

You found a witch’s cottage… dare to enter?

Rebel Witch Hymn & Greenlandian Forest Sounds

You found a witch’s cottage in the Greenlandian Forest… dare to enter?

The Greenlands is one of the seven kingdoms of New-Camelot—the fantasy world I have been building for over a decade, and the setting of The Sun and Moon Saga. Start reading The Sun and Moon Saga today!

The ‘rebel witch hymn’ is called Mother Maiden Crone and is by my band Ghost of a Girl.

And by the way, this cozy woodland cottage is my dream house. Sometimes while writing The Sun and Moon Saga and The Tales of the Sun and the Moon, I like to imagine that I am a solitary rebel witch, living deep in the Greenlandian Forest, (illegally) practising the Craft while I write these stories.

Sincerely,

MD Luna

Can I write 10,000 words in one day?!

Can I write 10,000 words in one day?!

Actually, yes, I already know that I can. In fact, I used to binge write regularly, back in the late 2010s, before I was balancing writing with a day job.

As we entered the 20s, however, I was forced to take a very different approach to my creative practice. I no longer had the freedom to write for hours upon hours without interruption. Many new responsibilities were suddenly eating up the bulk of my time. I now had to sneak writing into what little pockets of time I had. My new method was to log a few hours every day, rather than waiting for the next time I had the entire day free—because, honestly, I’d be waiting for Cosmos knows how long!

My story is certainly not unique. The vast majority of writers and creatives are forced to balance their survival needs with the needs of their inner artist, at least for a time. However, that doesn’t stop my inner artist, my inner child, from longing for this freedom.

The point of my attempting a 10k-word day here in this vlog was not to ‘be more productive’. (Yuck!) Rather, it was to give myself the gift of a free day: a day of nothing but me, my manuscript, and my camera. It was an experiment in seeing if I could get back to this more organic, inspired way of working. Because, honestly, when left to my own devices, 10k-word days are natural to me. As are days spent in my easy chair, drafting zero words, simply sipping tea and reading chapter after chapter. After all, both deep rest and deep work are essential to the creative process.

So, perhaps the question I should be asking with this video is not ‘Can I write 10,000 words in one day?’, but ‘Did I write 10,000 words on October 14th, 2025?’

Press play and find out!

Sincerely,

MD Luna

P.S.: V: The Solar Queen now sits at 80,890 words! At this rate, I should hit my goal of 100k by Yule!
